Customers & Users

People shape living spaces with DAW products and are in direct contact with them—whether when painting or living in those spaces. Their health has always been our top priority. We develop products that enable safe application and promote healthy indoor air quality.

Promoting healthy living

Whether at work, at home, or during leisure time, over 80% of our day is spent indoors. That’s why indoor air quality is essential for our well-being and health.

From the very beginning, we have continuously improved our products with a focus on healthy living environments. We have set industry standards—for example, in 1985, when we developed Caparol Indeko-plus E.L.F., the first low-emission and solvent-free interior paint. In 2001, Caparol Sensitiv followed as the first preservative-free interior paint. Today, the proportion of solvent-free, low-emission, and preservative-free interior paints in the DAW Group is about 50%.

Healthy living environments and the continuous reduction of hazardous substances will continue to drive our product development:

  • Interior paints and fillers: We are continuously expanding our preservative-free product line.
  • Lacquers and glazes: Our product family is increasingly complemented by water-based lacquers and glazes.
  • Floor coatings: We focus on marketing low-emission products and are further reducing CMR¹ ingredients.

Enabling healthy working

Healthy indoor products with reduced VOC emissions and no solvents also protect the health of applicators. For professional applicators, health is not only about the products they use but also about how they are used. We keep health in mind during product application:

Mask-free work with NESPRI

Spray application enables labor-saving and ergonomic work. With Caparol NESPRI, significantly less spray mist is generated compared to other technologies, allowing for mask-free outdoor application.

Overhead work—leave it to the Paint Buddy

Robotics such as the Caparol Paint Buddy contribute to protecting painters’ health. When used on large surfaces, it eases the workload and takes over strenuous and ergonomically unhealthy overhead work.

Less lifting with lightweight products

Lightweight renders and insulation boards save both material and resources while providing the same product performance, and their reduced weight means less heavy lifting for applicators—relieving strain on backs and joints.
