Rolf Buch Appointed New Chairman of the Administrative Board of DAW SE

Customer-focused strategic growth in a challenging market environment

Ober-Ramstadt, Germany, July 22, 2026. DAW SE has appointed Rolf Buch as the new Chairman of its Administrative Board. Buch has been a member of the body since the beginning of the year and assumed the chairmanship effective July 1, 2026. He succeeds Dr. Hans-Joachim Körber, former Chief Executive Officer of Metro Group, whose term concluded as planned with the transition. Over the past 18 years, Körber played a key role in shaping DAW’s successful development as a member of the Advisory Board and as Chairman of the Administrative Board.

“By appointing Rolf Buch, we are strengthening our Administrative Board with a business leader who combines exceptional market insight with extensive experience in managing large international organizations. With his strong growth orientation and strategic foresight, Rolf Buch will provide important momentum for DAW’s continued development. We are very much looking forward to working closely with him,” said Dr. Ralf Murjahn, CEO and owner of DAW SE.

From 2013 until the end of 2025, Buch served as Chief Executive Officer of Vonovia SE, a DAX 40-listed company. Under his leadership, Vonovia expanded its housing portfolio from approximately 180,000 to more than 530,000 residential units, becoming Europe’s largest private residential real estate provider. Prior to that, he held several senior leadership positions within Bertelsmann, including Chief Executive Officer of arvato AG, where he played a decisive role in transforming the company into a highly customer-focused global supply chain management and IT services provider.

“DAW combines a strong heritage with innovative strength and a deep commitment to quality and customer value. What impresses me is the clarity with which the company pursues its path as an independent, internationally growing family-owned business. I look forward to contributing my experience and helping shape the company’s future development,” said Rolf Buch.

In response to current market conditions, DAW is continuously refining its structures and processes to place customer and market requirements even more firmly at the center of its activities while reinforcing its growth trajectory. At the same time, long-term thinking and financial independence remain defining principles that guide the company’s actions.
